Ideas spread like viruses


This is the final project I created for my master's degree.

The idea:
The belief that ideas spread like viruses is essentially a universal truth in the worlds of media and marketing. But what if it's wrong?

The goal:
To explore new ways of telling engaging online stories.

The methodology:
I interviewed ten academics and professional practitioners from the worlds of fashion, political science, design, linguistics, medicine, business, film history, and journalism.

I asked each of my interviewees a simple question: How do ideas spread in your industry?

The project:
I wrote three long-form stories using insights from my interviews paired with additional research. Then, I turned those stories into an interactive website.
